Tidewords — cast one line into the sea, keep what washes ashore
Tidewords is a free, no-signup daily coastal ritual — a calm,
browser-based cousin of message in a bottle. You write
one small line — a wish, a worry to let go, a small hope — cast it into the
tide to release it, and in return a kind, 100%-original anonymous
found note washes ashore for you to uncork and keep. It takes about
20 seconds. No account, no install, no chat.
How the give-to-receive exchange works
Write your line and cast it — the bottle drifts out and is gone; you don’t keep your
own words, you let them go. A new bottle then washes ashore, and you uncork it to
reveal today’s found note, set as ink on parchment inside a hand-illustrated glass
bottle. Each found bottle lands on your growing beachcomber’s shelf
and builds your shore-day streak (“Day 34 on the shore”). You can share the
illustrated wash-ashore card or your shelf as an image.
No chat, no strangers — a private, low-liability web ritual
Unlike the mobile message-in-a-bottle apps, there is no real user-to-user
chat, matching, or DMs. The notes come from a curated corpus of original,
hand-written found notes — never from other users. Your own written line is
private and local: released, kept only on your device for the day, and
never published or sent to any server as text.
A gentle ritual, not advice
Tidewords is a gentle ritual for reflection — letting something go and receiving a
small kindness — not therapy, crisis support, or mental-health advice.
